xmgrace is, like gnuplot, a nice piece of software to create scientific plots. As opposite to gnuplot, xmgrace has a graphical interface and can generate only 2D plots. To the other hands, it allows for quite sofisticate analysis, such as autocorrelation, fourier transformation, interpolations, non linear fitting, regression, convolution and so on.

Install xmgrace in linux is quite straightforward, since is included in the repositories of all the major linux distribution, as for gnuplot.
